Registration qualifications
Participants must be over 18 years of age with an active personal PSN account for registry. The tournament will be held on PS4 NBA 2K18. Participants must register or have an active membership on the Cyber games arena (CGA) platform.
(CGA member personal information will be used for other promotion purposes.)

Rules & Regulations
- The tournament is offline and participants must go to the designated venue for the tournament. (Venue: Sky Garden, 4 / F Hysan Place, 500 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay)
- All attendees must arrive at the venue 30 minutes before the start of the match, For Ex. If the match starts at 7:00 pm and participants will be required to arrive at the venue at 6:30 pm Otherwise, participant will be disqualified.
- Participants are required to have valid identification documents.
- Participants must agree to authorize the use of photographs and videos derived from their participation in any relevant organizer or other promotional purposes
- Each participant can only use one PSN account to participate in the competition. Any player found to use more than one PSN account will be disqualified.
- Participant name of the game can not contain any indecent and vulgar words.
- The winners and their team members should go through the registration formalities before presenting the prize and present their identity documents to verify their identity
- Winners must agree to authorize photos and videos from the competition for any publicity purposes.
- The organizer reserves the right to advertise this tournament with your name, personal information for promotional and commercial purposes. In accordance with the rules of this competition, the organizer reserves the right to broadcast or replay the content (including via the Internet and wireless networks) or with its broadcast partners at no additional charges.
- The organizer will not make any refund or compensation under any circumstance if the game is delayed or canceled (except for the registration of the deposit)
- The organizer will contact the winners based on the contact details provided by the winners. All contact information will be based on the information in the application form and will not be subject to change.
- Prizes are non-transferable, non-convertible and non-refundable.
Tournament Format
- All games will be played using NBA 2K18 for Sony PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro.
- All players will play a minimum of 1 game:
- Participants will play a series of single elimination games, where each player keeps on advancing until they lose a game.
- The length of playing time for all games will be set at 3 minutes per quarter. Except for the Quarterfinals, Semi-finals and Finals Games where the playing time will be set at 6 minutes per quarter.
- For both online and offline legs, only the 30 Regular Season Current NBA teams from the 2017-2018 season are permitted to be used.
- For qualifiers before the local finals/top 16 leg, all 30 Teams from the regular season are permitted to be used
- For the local finals/top 16 leg, the top 3 ranked teams by overall in game are NOT PERMITTED to be used
- For all rounds, participants are NOT PERMITTED to use the same team for two consecutive games.
- You are permitted to change teams during the Tournament.
- You can also change your plays and coaches settings during the Tournament.
- If two competing players want to play with the same team, they will have to flip a coin to decide who gets to use that team in front of a marshal.
- Players will flip a coin to decide home/away positions.
- If you are losing by 20 points after the 3rd quarter, the rest of your game will be terminated. This will only not apply from the Quarter Finals onwards – games where each quarter length is 6 minutes
- Players are allowed to bring their own PS4 Dualshock 4 controllers
- No food and drinks allowed in the playing area.
GAME SETTING:
- All settings and camera views are DEFAULT aside from those specified here. Skill level is set at SUPERSTAR.
- Instant replay and cinema cut scenes will be turned OFF.
- Fatigue will be turned ON. Injuries will be turned ON. Competition style will be set to Analog (real mode)
- Shooting/Free-throw type: User timing
- Game Speed/Free Throw Difficulty: 50
- MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC substitutions, time outs, and late game fouling are allowed but must be pre-set before the start of the game.
- No manual substitution via START button. Substitutions are only allowed in-game via D-Pad and during called time outs.
- If you pause the game (using the START button) or press the PS Menu button, you must burn a timeout as a penalty. If you have no time outs left, you will be required to take a penalty (delay of game for offense, or out of bounds for the defense).
- When pausing the game, players cannot change the Manual/Automatic substitutions in the main menu
MISCELLANEOUS RULES
- If the game goes into overtime the competing individuals will be allowed to compete given the allotted time. The individual with the highest score at the end of the overtime game wins the game.
- In the event of an outage of power, accidental unplugging, system freeze or some other event not in either player’s control that would not allow the participants to finish the game, the judge will decide whether or not a restart of the match is warranted.
- All competition equipment will be provided by the Organizer. In case of any equipment issue, players must immediately notify the judge or Tournament director to deal with the problem.
- GLITCH RULES:
- Remember, once this happens you must pause the game immediately and call for a judge to come and review the play. DO NOT take the liberty of reviewing the play before contacting a judge.
- PENALTIES FOR BREAKING THE RULES:
- If you feel that your opponent is cheating, notify a judge. The judge’s decision is final and if the player is deemed to be cheating, they can be kicked out of the Tournament and all future tournaments.
- CONDUCT:
- Please refrain from using “in-your-face” foul language. Also, please be respectful of all other players. The judges have the final say over what is “respectful” and you may be disqualified from the Tournament if you do not cooperate.
- Narcotics of any kind is not permitted in the Tournament facility.
- No side-line coaching is allowed. You may not offer advice to anyone playing a game.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late to a game’s posted time, you forfeit that game.
- Any player that purposely turns off a game while it is in progress shall forfeit that game.
- No verbal or physical threats of violence to other Tournament participants. This will result in your immediate disqualification from the Tournament.
- LIABILITY AND ADDITIONAL RULES:
- We are not responsible for property stolen, broken or lost during the Tournament.
- All decisions by the Judges about any aspect of the Tournament are final and binding.
- We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to cancel or suspend part or all of the Tournament at any time without notice, if in our (or judges’ where applicable) opinion there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Tournament, or if virus, bugs, non-authorised human intervention, fraud or other causes corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or integrity and proper play of the Tournament. In such event, we may void any participants we suspect are at issue and award the prize from among all eligible participants up to the date of cancellation.
- Our failure to enforce any term of the official rules of the Tournament shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision.
- We reserve the right to disqualify participants who violate the official rules of the Tournament. If a participant is disqualified, we reserve the right to terminate that participant’s eligibility to participate in the Tournament.
- We reserve the right to add, delete or change any of these Official Rules at any time during the Tournament, especially when a new glitch is found.
- By agreeing to participate in the CATHY PACIFIC/HSBC HONG KONG SEVENS NBA 2K18 Tournament, you grant full permission to the Organizer and Sponsor, with no obligation to compensate you, to use your name, voice, statements, image, likeness, and/or actions, in addition to any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings, and/or other record of your performance(s) in the Tournament in perpetuity worldwide in any manner and in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised and represent that you have the right to grant such permission.
- Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions or exchanges (including for cash or credit) of any prizes will be permitted, except that Organizer reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize. All unspecified expenses are the responsibility of winners.
- If any prize or prize notification message is returned or potential winner refuses to execute the applicable documents, the prize will be forfeited. Winners may be required to complete and submit an Affidavit/Declaration of Eligibility, Publicity Release, rights transfer document and/or appropriate tax forms to receive a prize. Organizer will not replace any lost or stolen prize.
- All prizes are awarded "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose). FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL TAXES WHICH ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER.
- The information necessary to conduct the Tournament will be collected by the Organizer in accordance with their privacy policy/policies (collectively, the "Privacy Policy"). By entering the Tournament, you give your consent to the collection, use and processing, as set forth in the Privacy Policy, by the Organizer of your personal information provided at registration as well as any further information provided or collected during your participation. Upon request, you will be provided with access to your personal data. To exercise such right, you may write to the address provided in the privacy policy. You may also withdraw your personal data upon request, however, you will be disqualified as an entrant in the Tournament if you withdraw your personal data prior to the determination and fulfillment of the prizes.
- Limitation of Liability; Disclaimer of Warranties.
- IN NO EVENT WILL THE ORGANIZER OR THE SPONSOR BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ENTRANT’S ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE WEB SITES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TOURNAMENT AND/OR PARTICIPATION IN THE TOURNAMENT, AND/OR DOWNLOADING FROM AND/OR PRINTING MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM ANY WEBSITES ASSOCIATED WITH THE TOURNAMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THIS TOURNAMENT AND ALL PRIZES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. - TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW YOU RELEASE, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE ORGANIZER, THE SPONSOR AND ANY RELEVANT NBA ENTITIES AND EACH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENT COMPANIES, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, DIVISIONS, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION AGENCIES, EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS AND SHAREHOLDERS (COLLECTIVELY, THE “RELEASEES”) FROM ANY CLAIMS, ACTIONS, INJURY, LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, RESULTING FROM PARTICIPATING IN THIS COMPETITION OR FROM THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, OR USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE AWARDED OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY PRIZE-RELATED ACTIVITY.
- THE RELEASEES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TECHNICAL, HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE MALFUNCTIONS, LOST OR UNAVAILABLE NETWORK CONNECTIONS, INABILITY TO ACCESS A WEBSITE, FRAUD, INCOMPLETE, GARBLED, OR LOST OR DELAYED COMPUTER TRANSMISSIONS OR INACCURATE TRANSCRIPTION OF ENTRY INFORMATION, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE COMPANY, USERS OR BY ANY OF THE EQUIPMENT OR PROGRAMMING ASSOCIATED WITH OR UTILISED IN THIS PROMOTION OR BY ANY TECHNICAL OR HUMAN ERROR WHICH MAY OCCUR IN THE PROCESSING OF SUBMISSIONS WHICH MAY DAMAGE A USER’S SYSTEM OR LIMIT A PARTICIPANT’S ABILITY TO PARTICIPATE.
